FATHERS - is the opera made by the Lappetites, which was premiered at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, on November 25th 2009.

4 women, 3 fathers, 7 laptops, 3 screens, 8 speakers, 1 choir, 3 (male) opera singers and 12 years of international solo performance skill combine in a new musical experience.

The Lappetites, is an international collective of artists who create their work through online communication and occasional one place collision somewhere else in the world. Founded by Kaffe in 2001, their current members are Antye Greie aka AGF (Germany-Finland), Blanca Regina Perez-Bustamante (Spain),  Kaffe Matthews(UK) and Ryoko Akama(Japan).

FATHERS -

To take a look at contemporary global living, the Lappetites researched the lives of their own fathers, a high ranking officer in the East German Army, an English arable farmer born on the land he still works, and a Korean business man from post-war Japan. This new opera Fathers is the result.
